Life in Person

Peer Support for Binge Eating Disorder

Life in Person provides peer support and educational resources for people experiencing binge eating disorder in their everyday lives. Structured courses, peer support sessions, and practical tools are used to work through what is happening across a day.

Why Peer Support?

  • Peer support provides understanding based on lived experience.

  • Participants share strategies and feel less isolated through structured conversation and shared experience.

  • Many people use peer support alongside clinical care, particularly when wait times are extended or cost limits access, as clinical care is not always affordable.

  • Peer support can provide ongoing support at a lower cost, making it easier to stay engaged in recovery over time.

  • Peer support explores and complements what you already know and helps translate recovery strategies into consistent, everyday practice.

Your Story

Your experience matters.

Many people have spent years trying to manage this alone. Binge eating disorder is often hidden behind routine, responsibility, and silence. This space is here for people who want to share what it has looked like in real life.

This is a place where lived experience can be shared, recognised, and understood. You do not need a formal diagnosis or a perfect way to explain it. You can share your story in your own words. You can start where you are.

Your story may help someone else recognise what has been happening for them.

Commitment to Ethical Practice

Welcome to Life in Person

Life in Person exists to support people as they navigate one of the most important areas of their life – their relationship with food.

We operate with a strong commitment to ethical practice:

Independence

We operate independently. The goal has always to be to maintain a space guided by those who participate.

Responsibility

You are responsible for your participation. How you engage, contribute, and interact shapes your experience here.

Our Role

Life in Person provides the framework and facilitation for the Binge Eating Disorder space. Discussions are informed by real experiences, shared understanding, and the needs of participants. Peer support and lived experience guide everything we do.

Boundaries

This is not a clinical service. We do not provide assessment, diagnosis, or treatment.

Our Model

Life in Person is flexible. Its approach adapts to the behaviour and needs of those participating.

Testimonials

Marcus tells us "Between Sessions"

Having the course available between GP visits and therapy sessions made a real difference. Sometimes the wait between appointments can be long, and the material gave me something practical to work through during that time. It helped me understand my binge eating patterns and stay focused on recovery.

Emily says she is "Feeling Understood"

For years I believed binge eating was a personal weakness. Connecting with peers through Life in Person changed that. For the first time, I felt understood. That connection gave me the confidence to take steps I had avoided for years.

Amelia encouraged by "Hope into Action"

The course gave me more than information. It gave me a plan. Recovery finally felt structured and manageable. Using practical tools helped me turn intention into consistent action. Each week, I could see real progress.

Matthew tells us "Accessible Support"

I started with the free introduction and felt less alone immediately. The strategies were practical and realistic to apply. When I felt ready, joining the course was a clear next step. It has become part of how I approach recovery and my daily life.
